The beach is 940 metres in length with the average width of the beach being 20 metres. It is a sandy beach and seabed with a gentle slope and a low amount of vegetation. The central part of the beach has facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas, but there is no toilet or showers, so please feel free to visit our center and use our facilities.

Due to the important geological characteristics of the area and landslides, the removal or use of clay on the beach is not permitted.

70% of the sand on Gerakas Beach has been lost as a result of tourism!

Gerakas Beach is a turtle nesting beach protected by the National Marine Park of Zakynthos (NMPZ). If you visit a turtle nesting beach please keep your distance from marked nests to help protect the sea turtles! Follow the rules of the NMPZ, including not going beyond the turtle barrier, not moving any nest markers, not littering, and not going on the beaches at night.

Prevent yourself from becoming a threat to the sea turtles, and use our free facilities at our center, including our sand saver showers that recycle the sand so you can help us return the sand taken back to the beach.
